Music Of Quality And Distinction - Volume One is a sampler album from the British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.) with newly interpreted cover versions of classic songs. Tina was asked to record a new version of the Temptations hit Ball Of Confusion from 1970 with a modern instrumental background. Released as a single the same year, it became surprisingly a hit in the Norwegian charts. The CD release contains a remixed version of the song, which is also available on the 1994 box set The Collected Recordings. The following year, Martin Ware and Ian Craig Marsh produced also Tina's comeback single Let's Stay Together.

The album was released in 1982 from Virgin Records in England and Ariola Records in Germany on vinyl and cassette and in 1991 on compact disc. It was not released in America.
