Ooh Poo Pah Doo was released twice as a single. First in 1964 with the non album track „Merry Christmas Baby“ on the b-side and once again in 1971 with a slightly longer version, taken from the album Workin Together. The 1971 release contains an edited version of I Wanna Jump on the b-side, which was as well a single in 1969. Tina promoted the song without Ike but together with Neil Sedaka at the tv show „Shindig“ in 1964 and Ike & Tina performed it live in their concerts. Live versions are available on the album What You Hear Is What You Get from 1971 and Live In '71 from 2004.

Released December 1964 from Warner Records and April 1971 from United Artists Records in America and June 1971 in Europe on 7“ vinyl, Ooh Poo Pah Doo reached #31 (R&B) and #60 (Pop) in America.
