Somebody Needs You is a very rare single with two previously unreleased non album tracks. For Ike & Tina, the title track was at this time stylistically very unusual, because their song material had a harder, R&B inflected edge. A version with audience overdubs of the title track was also included on the album The Ike & Tina Turner Show Vol. 2. In the UK, an additional 4 track extended play single was realeased, including two live tracks from the album Live - The Ike & Tina Turner Show Vol. 1. Both songs were reissued on the 1991 CD sampler „Finger Poppin - The Warner Years“.

Released in 1965 in America from Loma Records on 7“ vinyl and in 1966 in England from Warner Records on 7“ vinyl (ep), Somebody Needs You didn’t charted.
