You Can't Have Your Cake (And Eat It Too) (1964)

You Can’t Have Your Cake (And Eat It Too) features a duet between Ike & Dee Dee Johnson and the instrumental track „The Drag“ on the flip side. Both are non album tracks, reissued on the sampler „The Bad Man“ in 2004, including rare and unissued tracks. From the title track are many different versions available: A version with lead vocals from Ike and background vocals from Tina is available on the sampler The Bolic Sound Sessions. A version from The Ikettes was released on the sampler Can’t Sit Down…’Cos It Feels So Good and Ike Turner released a solo version on his album Without Love…I Have Nothing in 1996. Dee Dee Johnson was in reality Delores Johnson, one of the Ikettes in 1961 / 1962.
