Beyoncé (The Ultimate Performer) is a home video from Beyoncé Knowles, which includes the live performance of Proud Mary in honour of Tina Turner at the Kennedy Center. Beyoncé first thanked the two „Tina’s“ in her life (her mother and Tina Turner) in a little speech and then she performed Tina’s signature song together with three dancers. Three years later, Tina thanked Beyonce with the performance at the 50th Grammy Awards in 2008, where they performed Proud Mary together.
The Kennedy prize has been awarded annually since 1977 on the first weekend in December by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. to several artists for their extraordinary contributions to American culture with their life's work. In 2005, the award was presented by the president of the United States, George W. Bush to Tina Turner, alongside with Tony Bennett, Suzanne Farrell, Julie Harris and Robert Redford.
