IKE & TINA: Single

Dust My Broom (1966)

Ike & Tina Turner - Dust My Broom - Single

Dust My Broom features two non album tracks, not available on any LP. The title song was originally recorded as „I Believe I'll Dust My Broom" by American blues artist Robert Johnson in 1936. Ike & Tina recorded a few renditions of the track: A version under the title „I Believe“ on their 1966 album Get It - Get It. Then another version for this single, which was produced by Ray Charles and released on his label Tangerine Records. Tina promoted it at the American TV-Show Where The Action Is. In 1969, the duo recorded a totally different and longer version for their album Outta Season. Last but not least, Ike Turner recorded also a solo version in 1973 for his album Bad Dreams. The title track Dust My Broom was reissued in 1971, this time taken from the sampler Souled Out.
