Dust My Broom (1966)

Ike & Tina Turner - Dust My Broom - Single

Dust My Broom from 1966 is a non album track, not available on any LP. It’s a cover song, originally released in 1951 from Elmo (Elmore) James. Ike and Tina recorded a few renditions of the track: A version under the different title „I Believe“ on their 1966 album Get It - Get It. Another version for this single, which was produced by Ray Charles and released on his label Tangerine Records. Tina promoted it at the American TV-Show Where The Action Is. A totally different and longer version was later included on the album Outta Season in 1969, which was reissued as a single in 1971. The b-side track Anything You Wasn’t Born With was already a single in 1966. Ike Turner released also a solo version in 1973, taken from the album Bad Dreams.
