TINA: Duet

Dusty Springfield (1966)

Tina Turner & Dusty Springfield - Duet

Dusty Springfield was an English singer and record producer whose career spanned over five decades. With her distinctive mezzo-soprano sound, she was a significant singer of blue-eyed soul, pop and dramatic ballads as well as French chanson, country and jazz. One of her most known songs are „I Only Want To Be With You“ and „Son Of A Preacher Man“. The last one was also recorded from Ike & Tina Turner, released in 1969 on the live album In Person. In 1987, her collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys took her back to the top of the charts. Dusty died on March 02, 1999, some weeks before her 60th birthday.

In 1966, after the success with River Deep, Mountain High in England, Ike & Tina were on tour in the UK and appeared on the TV-Show Ready, Steady, Go! During the recording of this show, Tina did also a duet together with Dusty Springfield on the song „Land of 1.000 Dances,“ but this performance was never broadcasted on TV.
