from the booklet

Tina Turner performed her sultry smash „What's love Got To Do With It“ on the 1985 Grammy show, where it was voted record and song of the year. Turner had been in the music business for 25 years at that point; she had been hot and cold (and worse) and had came back from it all. You can hear the sweet satisfaction in her voice - the pride, the hard-won self-esteem - as she sings her comeback anthem before an audience of her peers.

„What's Love Got To Do With It“ is tailor-made for Turner's sexy, seen-it-all persona: It's the story of a woman who pretends to be blase about love, but is really just afraid of being hurt again. So - to paraphrase an old Ike & Tina hit - she comes on rough even though, when it comes to matters off the heart, she's easy. Turner took home three Grammys in 1985, and she went on to win three more Grammys over the next four years.
