The Ed Sullivan Show was an American television variety show, broadcasted on CBS from 1948 until 1971 and was hosted by the New York entertainment columnist Ed Sullivan. Ike & Tina Turner performed two songs live at their appearance in 1970. Both tracks were released on the home video Rock & Pop Classics in 2006.
„Over the years, many couples performed together on 'The Ed Sullivan Show', like Louis Prima and Keely Smith, Gordon and Sheila MacRae and Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. But none could top the power couple that was Ike and Tina Turner. The husband and wife R&B duo appeared only once on 'The Ed Sullivan Show', but their explosive performance is unforgettable.“ — Ed Sullivan
