Golden Empire is a collection of rock and r&b standards like Faye Adams Shake A Hand, contemporary tunes including Stevie Wonders Living For The City and funky, witty Ike Turner originals. Beside previously released songs, it features also a lot of unreleased material, available for the first time on this two record set. All tracks are re-mastered and remixed by Striped Horse Records chief Carlo Nasi and Philadelphia International veteran engineer Don Murray. Four singles were released from the album and twenty years later, also the track Raise Your Hand was issued as a single. A selection of twelve songs was also released under the different title Get It On and all songs have been reissued on the two record set The Collection in 1987. Some of the previously unreleased songs can be found on an early demo record from 1976, maybe for a planned album which never materialised because of the split of the duo.

is a cover from Faye Adams, which stayed unreleased until 1985, when it was first issued on this album and as a single the next year in France. The b-side track I Know (You Don't Want Me No More) was already a single in 1969, taken from the album The Hunter, but this is a re-recorded version. In 1991, it was also included into the tracklist of the sampler Sexy-Seducative-Provocative, released again as a single.
