Proud Mary is a reissue of two tracks, taken from the sampler Greatest Hits, which was the last Ike & Tina album before they separated. The single is available with different cover pictures and was also released under the 'Hit Story' series. Proud Mary was Ike & Tina’s biggest hit in America and the Beatles song Come Together was already a single in 1970. The live version from the 12“ single was taken from the album What You Hear Is What You Get, recorded at Carnegie Hall in New York.
