Living For The City is a song from Stevie Wonder, originally released in 1973. Ike & Tina covered it one year later for their album Sweet Rhode Island Red. In 1986, the song was taken as the title for the album Golden Empire, featuring many previously unreleased tracks. It was first released in America with a different b-side as the European version one year later. All songs were remixed and produced by Ike Turner. Striped Horse records released an Ike and Tina Turner version of Stevie Wonders „Living For The City“ a few weeks ago. The cut is classic Stevie and classic Tina and deserves a listen though the exploitation factor is obvious. The tune will be part of „GoIden Empire,“ previously unreleased Ike and Tina tracks to be released by Striped Horse. Label head Carlo Nasi remixed the tracks.
