Ike & Tina Turner - Make 'Em Wait - Single

Blues & Soul - March 27, 1970

The regular stream of records featuring Ike & Tina continues. This one dates back to the days of Phil Spector's Philles label, where Ike & Tina recorded "River Deep." However, this is a straight forward rocker that is tastefully put together. Very exhilarating and funky but unlikely to mean very much. The flip revives the Arthur Alexander song of several years ago. It's more Spector-ish and more appealing to my ears. Clever arrangement on a good song. ****
