Oxford American is an American national magazine, dedicated to featuring the very best in Southern writing, published since 1997. The magazine’s 23rd annual issue was released with two iconic cover stars: On the first cover appears an electric image of twice-inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tina Turner at Madison Square Garden in 1969. The second cover features an intimate portrait of Aretha Louise Franklin.
