IKE & TINA: Song

Proud Mary

was originally a hit song from the band Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1969. Ike & Tina Turner covered it for their live shows and recorded a studio version in 1970 for their album Workin' Together. Released as a single, it was the duos biggest hit in America, reaching #4 on the Billboard pop chart. Also Tina performed the song continuously live in her solo concerts, available on many home videos. In 1993, she re-recorded the track in the studio with guest vocals by Timmy Cappello for the soundtrack album What’s Love Got To Do With It.
