Simply The Best is Tina’s first and very successful greatest hits album with four single releases. In the UK, it’s her most successful album up today, stayed in the charts for over two years. Beside Tina’s most popular hits, the album includes also three previously unreleased songs, as well as a re-recorded dance version of the classic track Nutbush City Limits and a remastered version of River Deep, Mountain High. In Europe, an additional limited edition „Box Set“ was released in 1992, which includes the original European CD, VHS video, six postcards and a booklet with the lyrics. In Australia, a two disc edition was released also in 1992, which contains the duet Simply The Best with Jimmy Barnes and some additional tracks. For promotion, Tina performed the song Way Of The World at several tv shows in Europe.

Released in September 1991 from Capitol / EMI Records on 2x vinyl, cassette, MiniDisc and compact disc, Simply The Best reached #2 in England (8x Platin), #4 in Germany (3x Gold, 1x Platin), #4 in Europe and #1 in New Zealand. Although the album only reached #113 in America, it was certified 1x Gold and 1x Platin in 1994.
