Be Tender With Me Baby is a slow ballad and was the last European single, not released in America. Tina performed the song as the encore at her Foreign Affair Tour and once again at her 50th Anniversary Tour. As a special bonus, a cut to shape picture disc was released in addition to the regular single.

The song again, was one of those annoying songs, if you didn't really deliver it properly. It kind of goes on, but it's so right, it was…what can I tell you except to say that they were old fashioned songs again. It was songs that you want to sing about. You'11 always get into that mood of feeling like you want to say (sings)… It's an old melody that's very said and very pleading, that always works. If you look back into the days of Sam Cook and all of those Sam and Dave songs, they did that pleading type of thing, and Marvin Gaye. That's what it took me back to. Just took me back to all of that, the feeling of those songs. — Foreign Affair promotional interview
