Oxford American is an American national magazine, dedicated to the very best in Southern writing, published since 1997. The magazine’s 23rd annual issue was released with two iconic cover stars: On the first cover appears an electric image of twice-inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tina Turner at Madison Square Garden in 1969. The second cover features an intimate portrait of Aretha Louise Franklin.
