Tina Turner & Eric Clapton - Tearing Us Apart - Single

Tearing Us Apart

Single / Guest Vocals (1987)

Tearing Us Apart is a rock song from Eric Clapton with Phil Collins playing the drums and percussions. It’s a duet with Tina Turner and was released as the second single from Eric’s tenth studio album August. Tina and Eric performed the song live at the Prince’s Trust concert in London’s Wembley Arena. A second live recording from Tina's Break Every Rule Tour with a guest appearance from Eric Clapton was included on the album Live in Europe. An otherwise never officially released extended version of the song is only available on an American 12“ promotional record, misnamed as LP version. Tina did also the backing vocals on the b-side track „Hold On“. The single was reviewed in Billboard magazine in it’s issue from July 25, 1987.

The music video was taken from the Prince's Trust concert performance, live from Wembley Arena in London. It shows Tina and Eric together on stage with the band including Elton John, Midge Ure, Phil Collins and Mark Knopfler. The video was released in two versions - the live version and a version mixed with the studio track of the song.
