IKE & TINA: Single

Workin’ Together (1970)

Ike & Tina Turner - Workin' Together - Single

Workin' Together is the title track and the second single from Ike & Tina’s most successful album Workin’ Together. Both songs were written by Ike Turner, but the title song was credited to Eki Renrut, which is the backward spelling of Ike’s name. Ike & Tina promoted it live at the TV-Show American Bandstand on January 16, 1971. The Mexican extended play single includes four tracks from the album.

The songtext is very unusual for Ike & Tina Turner, because it’s very politically and describes the problems in the world. Unfortunately, the message of the song is still very present - more than ever!

A very rare video clip is available for this song, which shows some live performances and a very private side of the duo, plus many scenes about violence, racism and war.
