IKE & TINA: Song

I Want To Take You Higher

is a song from the band 'Sly and the Family Stone', released as the b-side on their single „Stand!“ in 1969. Ike & Tina covered it in 1970 for their album Come Together and released it also as a very successful single. They performed the song the following years repeatedly in their concerts, available on many live albums like Live In Paris. Tina Turner used it in 2000 as the opening number at her Twenty Four Seven Tour, after she didn’t performed the song for a quarter of a century.
