Father Alone was taken from the Ike & Tina Turner album The Gospel According to Ike & Tina. It features on the American release two tracks with lead vocals by Ike Turner and on the German release with „What A Friend We Have In Jesus“ a song with lead vocals from Tina on the flip side. The single received a Grammy nomination the next year and is the very last solo single from Ike Turner.
