Enjoy Up, Down & Close In Relief with The Ike & Tina Turner Show

It happens this way. Tina, in one of her 75 sleek gowns, spins her body and soul around a mike. Ike, at her side, guitar hung hip low, drives his all-star orchestra. To the right, The lkettes, a trio of lovelies, each a singing star in her own right, adding more. Out front: fans. Hundreds who have been through the Ike and Tina Experience before. Who are ready again, as Tina souls her way through song after song. Tina, who follows, only after all of the other top stars in Ike Turner’s revue have been on stage. Follows their wailing, crowd-winning singing. Comes on when the audience is near laid out exhausted. Who picks the whole room up...then squeezes. Does it again and again, song after song. And the audience out

there, ignoring their smoke-hurt eyes and their jammed-in-tight standing-room-only-ness, spellbound by the writhing voice of the girl they advertise as “The Human Bomb- shell.” Only it’s true, for once. Night after night, city after city, Tina Turner comes forward and yells, cries, rocks, squeals. pleads, moves, writhes, jumps, shrieks, prays, and IS the whole woman-thing condensed into one stunning shape of a female. A thumb-size diamond flashes off her wedding ring. Her lips pull back and out comes the true. And the out front people yell, cry, rock, squeal, plead, move, writhe, jump, shriek, pray, and BECOME THE WHOLE REASON BEHIND BEING ALIVE, then come away about two in the morning with their hang ups gone and the world ironed out straight, and nothing but love all around for three square miles. That’s the Ike and Tina Happening.
