IKE & TINA: Album (Studio)

Sweet Rhode Island Red (1974)

Ike & Tina Turner - Sweet Rhode Island Red - Album

Sweet Rhode Island Red is the very last studio album from Ike & Tina Turner before they separated. It contains many songs written by Tina Turner, as well as some cover versions. In some European countries, the tracklist featured the additional track Sexy Ida, because this song was released as a single while Ike & Tina were on tour in Europe. The album was created exclusively for the international market and was only available through the Columbia Record Club in the United States. Most of the songs were remixed and reissued after Tina’s comeback on the compilation Golden Empire, while the track Living For The City was released as a single in 1985. 'Sweet Rhode Island Red' was digitally remastered and released by BGO Records in 2012 on the double CD Sweet Rhode Island Red / The Gospel According To Ike & Tina.
