I’m So Thankful was an R&B success, but no pop crossover like I’m Blue and Peaches 'N’ Cream, despite appearances from the Ikettes on tv shows including „Shindig,“ „Hullahalloo“ and „Shebang“. Like Peaches 'N’ Cream, it features Jessie Smith on the lead vocals. The version on the album Soul The Hits is a different mix with a few extra backing vocals. The flip „Don't Feel Sorry For Me“ is a funked up cover of the old Jimmy Beasley hit issued in 1956.

Released in September 1965 in America from Modern Records and in January 1966 in Europe from Polydor Records on 7“ vinyl, I’m So Thankful reached #12 (R&B) in America.
