IKE: Album (Demo)

The Edge (1980)

Ike & Tina Turner - The Edge (Demo) - Album

The Edge is an early demo acetate for the album The Edge, released in 1980 on Fantasy Records with a very different tracklist, including the last five recordings together with Tina Turner. This tracks are missing here and it features instead only songs with lead vocals from Ike Turner, some of them still unavailable anywhere else. The instrumental part was played by Home Grown Funk, a popular Memphis group in the '70s. Only three tracks from this demo appeared later on the album The Edge and some have been reissued on the rarities sampler Good Old Times in 1991.
