Liner Notes

What you are about to experience with the play of this album is a most delightful emotion resulting from the excitement generated by the music of IKE AND TINA TURNER. Herein is a cross-section, a mixture if you will, of the successful records produced by this terrific twosome; the type of records that they have made and conversely have made them.

IKE AND TINA have aptly showcased their refreshing and unique talents with experienced musicians who ably produce the sound that any particular mood calls for. There are, for an example, classic instances within this package to verify this as truth.

This is IKE AND TINA'S third album for Sue Records. (THE SOUL OF IKE AND TINA TURNER, SUE LP 2001, and DANCE WITH IKE AND TINA TURNER and THEIR KINGS OF RHYTHM, SUE LP 2003).

When you begin to listen to this album notice how effectively they drift from a quiet, relaxed, and soulful mood to one, pulsating with excitement; the kind of excitement associated with the IKE and TINA BIG BEAT.

It is not frequent that a wholly original and individual sound has had the impact on the populace, in general, and the music business, in particular, as has the talent of IKE AND TINA. The resulting success is still Washington, D.C. rightfully theirs to enjoy having been one of their industrys top acts for a considerable time.

The pitfall of too numerous personalities is the fact that the music they produce is so limited in scope or so void of originality or sincerity that if it succeeds at all, it becomes by its own nature so geared so such a special and limited segment of people that any great amount of success is next to impossible. What there is of it is likely to be short lived.

In contrast, there are stalwarts in the music business such as IKE and TINA who truly have something to offer the majority of those who would buy, listen, or dance to their records, and in particular, those who would see them in person. This, then, gives them a kind of universal appeal. This is, after all, the difference between a mediocre success and a great one. The really great success in Show Biz is the kind enjoyed by IKE and TINA TURNER. In this album I can promise that you will find the dynamic and original talent of IKE and TINA TURNER. These are also the prime reasons that they have acquired the degree of success that I have described.
