I Know (1969)

Ike & Tina Turner - I Know - Single

I Know is a cover song, originally released from Barbara George in 1961. It was the second single from the album The Hunter, but missed the Hot 100 Billboard chart - in contrast to „Bold Soul Sister“ from the b-side. Ike & Tina performed the title track live in their concerts, released on the album The Ike & Tina Turner Show (Vol. 1) from 1965. Reworked and different versions were released on the album Sweet Rhode Island Red from 1974 and Golden Empire from 1985. „Bold Soul Sister“ was promoted from the duo live at the „Ed Sullivan Show“ in 1970.

Billboard Review

October 4, 1969

The dynamic duo had a chart winner with „The Hunter“ and „I've Been Loving You Too Long,“ and this blockbuster updating of the Barbara George hit will surpass both of those hits on both the soul and Hot 100 charts. Flip: „Bold Soul Sister“.
