You Got What You Wanted is the first single from the album Cussin', Cryin' & Carryin’ On, while the b-side track was taken from the album So Fine. The single is credited for the first time to „Tina Turner with Ike Turner & The Kings of Rhythm“. The duo promoted the song at the TV-Show Hollywood Palace in 1968, together with Sammy Davies. A remixed version of the title track is available on the digital album Reworked Versions. In France, the same tracks but in reverse order were released as part of the „Hit-Parade“ series.
